Hey, I've been thinking about going to another country to live in a large city there. I've never lived in a big city so I want to experience what it would be like! So, here are some countries and cities that I am interested in living with a pro/con list. So, help me. I'm not sure if I'll go in February or do it in the summer (you guys are welcome to join too). So here we go.
Sweden- Gothenburg/Göteborg
+already know Swedish, already know about Swedish culture, used to the weather, Göteborg looks like an incredibly nice city, Swedish sweets, Swedish guys (mmmmmmm), a liberal country, midsommar, the nature
- Kind of want to try living in a country I haven't lived in, expensive
Denmark- Copenhagen
+ near Sweden and the rest of Europe, looks nice, kind of similar to Sweden, can kind of understand Danish (definitely not spoken!)
- expensive (more expensive then Sweden I think), really expensive to live in Copenhagen, Danish...
Netherlands-Amsterdam
+ very liberal, Dutchies are so nice and crazy, chocolate sprinkles on toast, kind of cheap, easy to go to other parts of the country/other countries in Europe, have been there and loved it
-the euro, don't know Dutch
Germany- Hamburg/Berlin
+ Those cities seem really nice, progressive/efficient, German boys, German food, German beer, German, pretty cheap to live in Berlin
- Don't know German, the euro
France- Paris/another city
+ already know French kind of, French food,
- can't really understand when they talk XD
UK- London/another city
+ already know English, sexy accents, beautiful nature, interesting history
- rains a lot, really expensive, the pound, too much of US' bitch
Ireland- Dublin
+ beautiful, interesting, guiness, already know English
- I don't know too much about Ireland, hmm... pretty Catholic? I don't know...
Canada- Toronto
+ close to home (about 45 minutes), more liberal and forward than the US, already know English, as expensive as the US
- close to home, not in Europe
Canada- Montréal
+ already know French, they have cool accents, liberal, Québec is similar to Europe, not as close as Toronto
- not in Europe
I don't know much information on such stuff on these countries. So I hope any of you who are more well-travelled/know some more can help me and give me some more information ;)
